Parliament approves cabinet decision to establish FTA with China

Parliament of the Maldives has approved Government's decision to sign a Free-Trade Agreement with China. The parliament decided to back the Cabinet's decision to establish a Free-Trade Agreement with China, unanimously with votes from the 30 parliamentarians present during the voting.

The National Security Committee of Parliament evaluated the agreement which was presented to Parliament by the Government. Minister of Economic Development, Mohamed Saeed was present at the committee along with other technical members, for the evaluation process.

The President decided to sign a Free Trade Agreement with China following deliberations at the Cabinet meeting held yesterday.
