The Business Centre Corporation (BCC) has announced that there would be a separate judging panel for each category of the Maldives Expo.
The Maldivian Expo will take placed from the 25th of October to 5th of November.
Speaking at PSM News’ Raajje Miadhu programme, Deputy Managing Director from Business Centre Corporation Samih Adam, stated that this year’s expo will have participants from every atoll. Samih stated that the expo would have separate judging panels for each category at the expo, adding that 39 judges had already been selected. He also noted that a high-level judges panel would also be created to select the top five submissions of the expo.
BCC stated that judges would look for the quality and creative input in addition to the materials that were used to make the products. BCC also noted that the judges were experts in the fields of the categories that they were judging in.
This year’s expo would have seven districts. Including technological and international exhibitor's district. Over 1,000 participants are taking part in the Maldives Expo this year.
The innovations and products are being displayed across under 16 categories under 73 sub-categories. The expo will display businesses from participants who are 13 and older.
BCC allows Maldivians over the age of 13, Maldivian businesses, State Owned Enterprises, educational institutions, councils, and those who have disabilities to take part in the expo. BCC has now announced the date at which submissions to the expo will begin.
Product submissions can take place from 10:00 to 20:00 at Hulhumale Central Park where the expo is arranged to be held. When submitting, participants should make sure to upload all the necessary information to the BCC portal. BCC also state that any packaged items should be packaged properly.
The aim of the expo is to further develop the sector of Maldivian innovations, to help find markets for Maldivian businesses and to create a path of innovative ideas to prosper.
The expo is planned to be held for nine days.
