Minister of Islamic Affairs and Endowments Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed stated announced that over the last two years more than USD 77,000 was spent on religious organisations engaged in islamic endowments.
The minister made the remarks during the Annual Meeting of Islamic NGOs 2026.
The minister highlighted the important of working collaboratively and supporting one another, with each contributing its respective strengths and resources towards their shared objectives.
The minister acknowledged that in the past two years the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Endowments worked with and provided assistance to many Islamic organisations. In this regard the minister noted that the ministry has provided approximately USD 77.628.92 in financial assistance.
This support has included assistance in establishing Islamic studios and providing equipment and other resources required for Qur’an classes.
More than 60 representatives from across 53 organisation participated in this year’s Annual Meeting of Islamic NGOs 2026. The meeting is being held under the theme 'Islamic Endowments in the 21st Century,' with discussions focusing on contemporary approaches, opportunities and challenges in advancing Islamic outreach.
