The Ministry of Housing has said that asphalt-layering of Naibu Thuh’thu Hingun in Fuvahmulah City will commence in November.
Parts of the road, which connects all wards of the city, are already paved with asphalt and interlocking concrete blocks.
The road project will see asphalt-layering of the remainder of Naibu Thuh’thu Hingun and other paved roads.
Maldives Road Development Corporation (MRDC) is currently working on installing the pavement and drainage system under the project.
The Housing Ministry attributed delays in commencing road development work due to the ongoing water and sewerage network projects.
It said work on Naibu Thuh’thu Hingun will commence with the completion of the water and sewerage projects.
