Minister of Islamic Affairs and Endowments Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has held discussions with Indonesia’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Muhammad Anis Matta on strengthening cooperation in Islamic affairs.
The discussions were held during the courtesy call by Indonesian Vice Minister on the Islamic Minister.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the development of the Islamic Endowment Fund and explored opportunities for joint training programmes for imams and khatibs.
The Minister thanked the visiting delegation for the engagement, noting the importance of strengthening collaboration between the two countries in religious and community development.
The Vice Minister also met with senior officials of the Ministry, where he was briefed on key initiatives and the work of various agencies operating under the the ministry.
As part of his visit, the Indonesian Vice Minister toured the Islamic Centre and the Malé Friday Mosque.
