According to data released by the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation , over 50,000 tourists have arrived in the Maldives from Germany, marking the fifth largest number of travellers to visit the island nation this year.
According to the figures, 745,706 visitors have travelled to the Maldives this year, a 3.5 percent rise compared to 2025.
In April alone, 97,000 travellers have arrived in the country. The Middle East conflict has caused a decline in visitor numbers, but figures are gradually increasing.
The top five countries in terms of tourist numbers are: China (109,228), Russia (93,602), the United Kingdom (69,627), Italy (62,651) and Germany (50,186).
Data released by the ministry showed that the majority of travellers opted for resorts, at 506,606 visitors, while 186,904 stayed in guesthouses and 20,084 in hotels. Furthermore, 735,355 visitors arrived by air, whereas 10,351 travelled by sea.
