Moosa Fathuhee Adam elected PNC Secretary General

Moosa Fathuhee Adam has been elected as Secretary General of the ruling People’s National Congress (PNC). He was elected following the resignation of former PNC Secretary General Muaz Haleem on Saturday.

In a post on the social media platform X, Muaz Haleem announced his resignation, stating that the decision was made to strengthen the party’s management and further align its political work with the needs of residents. He said the move would also support the PNC President and the President of the Maldives, Mohamed Muizzu, in achieving the party’s goals and ensuring its continued success.

He added that the PNC deserves a Secretary General who can dedicate sufficient time to fulfilling the responsibilities of the role, citing this as a key reason for stepping down.
