The Maldives is set to make a significant presence at the globally renowned Muslim Travel Show, the world’s largest exhibition dedicated to Muslim and halal tourism, taking place at ExCeL London from 7 to 8 February.
Spearheaded by the International Halal Tourism Organization (IHTO) and backed by key Maldivian entities including Visit Maldives Corporation, the Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators, the Maldives Boating Association, and the National Hotels and Guest Houses Association, this strategic participation underscores the nation’s commitment to expanding its footprint in the booming global halal tourism market.
The event will serve as a platform to unveil new policies and highlight tourism services tailored to Islamic principles, offering Maldivian stakeholders direct engagement with international businesses and Muslim travelers.
Recognised as a premier gathering for the Muslim travel industry, the exhibition unites key players from across the globe and provides a dynamic space for networking, business development, and cultural promotion.
With the global Muslim travel market valued at USD 200–300 billion annually and projected to reach USD 500 billion by 2035, and an estimated 176 million Muslim travelers in 2024—a 25 percent rise from 2023—the Maldives’ involvement marks a timely and ambitious step toward capturing a growing segment of conscientious travelers.
