"With diligence and a smile, you [nurses] carry out work that fills the nation with pride," the president stated, extending his best wishes for their continued success and advancement.

This year's theme, designated by the International Council of Nurses, is "Our Nurses. Our Future. Caring for nurses strengthens economies." Their presence in hospitals and clinics is more than a profession; it is a lifeline for patients in times of illness. The government, recognising this essential contribution, continues to implement initiatives aimed at increasing the proportion of Maldivian nurses within the healthcare sector, reinforcing its commitment to strengthening the nation's medical workforce.
