President commits to continuing Fushidhiggaru project

Chief Spokesperson at the President's Office Heena Waleed has stated that the Fushidhiggaru Falhu developmental project will continue, underscoring that efforts are currently underway in accordance with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's presidential commitment.

The government began the work of land reclamation of Fushidhiggaru Falhu on December 18, 2023, as part of the biggest housing project in the Greater Male' area region. Additionally, as part of the project, 1,153 hectares of land are to be reclaimed.

Speaking at a press conference, Heena reaffirmed the Fushidhiggaru Falhu developmental project has not been halted, highlighting that Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), design work and other tasks are currently in progress. These remarks were made in response to people claiming that the project was allegedly delayed.

Providing insights into government led initiatives, Heena confirmed all developmental projects to be continuing expeditiously, encompassing those projects which had been stalled and delayed as well. She further noted that the government is actively working towards; ensuring maximum welfare to the people.

Moreover, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu affirmed the timely commencement of the project within eight months. Additionally, it has been resolved to allocate over 26,000 flats and 11,000 land plots reclaimed.
