Abdul Raheem lauds PNC super majority, pledges benefits through bills

Special Advisor to the President Abdul Raheem Abdulla has highlighted the significance of the People's National Congress (PNC) securing a super majority in Parliament, suggesting that the outcome pledges substantial benefits for both the citizens and the nation through every bill introduced.

Speaking to PSM News, Abdul Raheem outlined a transformative vision for the 20th Parliament, highlighting the wealth of expertise among its members and forecasting a period of significant productivity.

Additionally, Abdul Raheem underscored the clear mandate of the public, expressed through the parliamentary election on April 21, which granted the government a decisive majority. He noted that positions the Parliament as a pivotal agent in fulfilling President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s policy agenda. He stressed the collaborative synergy between the government and Parliament, affirming a commitment to consultative processes in the formulation and submission of bills.

Furthermore, Abdul Raheem conveyed a determination to overcome any constitutional impediments hindering measures deemed beneficial for the nation and its citizens, signaling a readiness to pursue constitutional amendments if necessary. He framed the resolve as a response to the public's expressed desire for flexibility in governance.

President Dr. Muizzu had articulated the imperative for parliamentary support in enacting a comprehensive legislative agenda, encompassing over 200 amendments and new bills essential for fulfilling the government's manifesto pledges.
