RDC establish office in Addu to oversee road development

Road Development Corporation Limited (RDC) has established an office in Addu City to oversee the road development project.

The office was inaugurated by the Chief Executive Office and Managing Director of the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed. Moreover, the ceremony was attended by the Managing Director of RDC Brigadier General (retd.) Ali Zuhair, senior company executives and government officials.

The office was opened in Hithadhoo and would be responsible for overseeing the development of 100km of road network in Addu, which was launched by the previous government. Moreover, as part of the initiative, 60km of roads were to be built by laying cement base layers. However, following his visit to Addu, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu announced the decision that all the roads will be developed by laying asphalt. The project will amount to over USD18 million.

Additionally, as part of its ongoing infrastructure development efforts, the government has also decided to undertake land reclamation along the link road to Eidigali Kilhi.
