President vows to expand land reclamation of Feeali

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has affirmed the expansion of the ongoing land reclamation project in Feeali, Faafu Atoll. The remarks were made by the president while addressing the residents of Feeali.

The land reclamation project of Feeali was initially launched by the previous administration. Despite entrusting the dredging of 13.8 hectares of land to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), Feeali Council has revealed that the project was not implemented as the residents of the island appealed. Hence, the council requested to ensure the project would be carried out as per the requests of the residents.

Addressing the issue, President Dr. Muizzu confirmed that the request will be considered and will be implemented. As such, decisions have been made to dredge an additional 15 hectares. Additionally, the president observed the capability of dredging more land from the lagoon of the island and assured that land will be reclaimed to the maximum. He further ensured that other developmental projects that have been commenced already and are to be launched, will continue and will deliver tangible results expeditiously.

Unveiling that many projects which were initiated by the previous administration were halted due to the lack of secured funds, President Dr. Muizzu stated affirmed the continuation of such projects, stating that the required funds have been provided. On this stance, the president pledged to launch all the developmental projects requested by the residents of Feeali, ensuring promising results.
