'Ras'ain' App launched, offers insights on fishing hotspots

President Dr. Mohammed Muizzu has launched the Ras'ain application during the inauguration ceremony of the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) Air Corps and the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). The creation of this application aims to provide fishermen and vessels traveling through Maldivian channels with crucial information. The primary motivation behind the development of this app is the strategic geographical location of the country, which serves as a main sea route connecting vessels from numerous countries.

Speaking at the ceremony held at Maafaru International Airport, Noonu Atoll, President Dr. Muizzu stated that the launch of the application will significantly develop and modernize the fisheries industry, assisting the government in achieving its goals. The president further emphasized that this measure will facilitate easy monitoring of fishing progress, in addition to being time and cost-effective. He also mentioned that Ras'ain will ensure proper allocation of all available resources and facilities, such as the utilization of more sea area.

Ras'ain provides fishermen with important information, including a detailed map of the country, the location of other vessels, the distribution of schools of fish, and updated information on the best areas for fishing. Additionally, it offers information related to marine security and safety, including urgent alerts, accurate changes in sea levels, and updated weather forecasts for the relevant area. It also facilitates easy access to support from the MNDF during various incidents at sea. Furthermore, Ras'ain provides information to those working in the tourism industry about various diving sites across the country.

The application is available for both Android and iOS devices, making it accessible to a wide range of users.
