MTCC brings changes to Ameenee Magu minibus route

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has brought changes to bus routes in response to the ongoing road development project on Ameenee Magu, led by the Road Development Corporation (RDC).

The closed off area in Ameenee Magu which is crucial for domestic bus services and travel between Male' City and Hulhumale', has necessitated three significant changes to the bus routes. Previously, buses driving along the route between Male' and Hulhumale' would operate from the Dharumavantha Hospital and West Park area.

However, the last stop has been relocated to the Maafannu Bus Terminal with the closure of that segment of Ameenee Magu. The terminal will now act as the starting point for R-1 and R-3 services and serve as the final stop for R-7 services. In addition, adjustments to internal bus routes involve the rerouting of R-11 and R-10.

MTCC has encouraged individuals to contact the 1650 hotline for further clarification and additional information on the changes.

The minibus services primarily rely on Ameenee Magu as the main route. Ameenee Magu is one of the busiest roads in Male’ due to the high number of office buildings and schools in the area. It is also one of the few roads that run across the length of the capital city and is the main network for utility services. The road also connects the traffic to all areas of the city but has been in poor condition for years.
