China pledges to continue assisting in development of Maldives

Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Saeed has stated that China has given full assurance it will carry out more development projects in the Maldives with increased investment in the business sector.

In a post on X, Minister Saeed said that China has pledged to continue assisting in the development of the Maldives during the administration of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu with the commencement of more flights, investments, and development projects. He expressed confidence that there are promising days ahead in regard to the country's economic prospects.

Minister Saeed is accompanying Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef at the China-Indian Ocean Region Forum on Development Cooperation. This is the second edition of the high-level official development cooperation forum, a joint venture between China and the countries of the Indian Ocean Region.
