Over 63,000 beds in operation across Maldives

The Ministry of Tourism has revealed over 63,000 tourist beds are in operation across the Maldives.

As per the latest statistics published by the tourist ministry, a total of 63,085 tourist beds were in operation across 1,274 facilities by November 21. The statistics showed that a total of 42,817 beds are in operation across 175 resorts, while 15,120 beds are in operation across 922 guesthouses, 1,940 beds are in operation across 14 hotels, and 3,208 beds are in operation across 163 liveaboards. So far this year, an additional 3,460 beds have been opened for tourism.

The number of tourist beds in the Maldives has increased while the number of tourist arrivals is also increasing. The government has stated that 1.6 million tourists have visited the Maldives so far this year, which is an increase of 13.1% over the same period last year. The government aims to attract a record 1.8 million tourists by the end of this year.
