MACL boosts VIA ground handling with new equipment

The Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has introduced additional vessels and equipment to enhance ground handling operations at Velana International Airport (VIA).

The commissioning of the new vessels and equipment at VIA was celebrated in a special ceremony. Managing Director of MACL Mahjoob Shujau and senior officials from the company also attended the ceremony.

The expanded fleet for ground handling now includes four passenger buses, four aircraft stairwells, two universal loaders, two high loaders, 10 baggage tractors, a 14-seat minivan, and a 32-seat bus.

This addition of vehicles and equipment aims to boost the services provided to airlines by expediting processes and elevate the overall efficiency of the airport. Furthermore, plans are in place to bring in additional equipment in the future, highlighting the ongoing commitment of MACL to enhancing its operational capabilities.
