An electricity cable system has been laid across the ocean for the first time in the Maldives. It is connected between the Central Power Station operated by the Fenaka Corporation Limited in Faresmaathodaa and Faresmaathodaa Airport, Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll.

Fenaka stated that the power station will provide uninterrupted electricity for the next 50 years. The station supplies electricity to the island through a cable laid across the sea.

The power station at Faresmathoda boasts a 10MW capacity and meticulously designed to minimise noise disturbance. The station houses contemporary amenities and features a 1,840KW generation capacity, ensuring dependable electricity for the island's inhabitants.
