Regional Airports Company Limited (RACL) has revealed that navigational lights will be installed to begin nighttime flights at Hoarafushi Airport.

Currently, the national airline, Maldivian, and Manta Air operate daytime flights to Hoarafushi Airport. RACL stated that a team has travelled to Hoarafushi, Haa Alifu Atoll, to install the lights and the cable network. The project is estimated to be completed within a month for the test flight.

Four of the six airports operated by RACL currently conduct nighttime flights. They include airports in Hanimaadhoo in Haa Dhaalu Atoll, Faresmaathoda in Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, and Fuvahmulah City. In addition, a nighttime flight test was recently conducted after navigational lights were installed at the airport in Kulhudhuffushi City.
