Ooredoo launches first digital care assistant in Dhivehi

Ooredoo Maldives has upgraded its Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered Digital Care Assistant, Evee, enabling customers to interact with the digital assistant in Dhivehi.

Minister of Environment, Climate Change and Technology Aminath Shauna and Minister of Arts, Culture and Heritage Yumna Maumoon were present during the relaunching ceremony. Customers who wish to access the service through Evee can dial the 929 hotlines, select Dhivehi as the preferred language, and choose option one to check data, SMS, Voice, and bill balances. Ooredoo said Evee is part of the efforts to provide comprehensive services to customers and access to services easier for customers of all ages.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Shauna said that the Maldives cannot move forward without technology. She said that no citizen should be deprived of any services and that there should not be a single individual left out of society even with the development of technology.

In addition to the launch of Evee in Dhivehi, Ooredoo Maldives also officially launched its brand-new Dhivehi font, as the company celebrates the launch of its new visual identity for the Ooredoo brand. The recent strategic changes to its brand identity under its global campaign Upgrade Your World resonates with Ooredoo’s personality and the company’s journey in line with modern technology and the growth it has been bringing to the business.

Speaking about the font, Minister Yumna said that Ooredoo is showing that technological advances do not necessarily mean giving up identity. She expressed the belief that it will bring social as well as economic benefits.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Ooredoo Maldives said AI-powered IoT and other emerging technologies have enormous potential to transform the lives of customers, creating opportunities that will enrich the lives of communities. He said that in line with the mission, it is proud to upgrade Evee to enable Dhivehi interactions, increasing accessibility and inclusiveness of acquiring services to all customers.

Evee was initially launched on October 20, 2019, in English and since then, the services via the Bot have evolved and streamlined services for its customers. Ooredoo Maldives remains steadfast in continuing its efforts to invest in new technologies and services which can enrich the lives of Maldivian people.
