Ooredoo Maldives Posts USD 10.8M Q1 Profit

Ooredoo Maldives has reported a net profit of USD 10.8 million for the first quarter of 2025, marking a 2.5% increase compared to USD 10.5 million during the same period last year.

The company’s main revenue drivers were its mobile, fixed, and broadband internet services. Despite a dip in mobile revenue—down to USD 26.7 million from USD 27.9 million in Q1 2024—Ooredoo saw an 8% rise in fixed broadband revenue, reaching USD 8.8 million compared to USD 8 million last year.

Gross revenue for the quarter stood at USD 35.5 million, reflecting a slight 1.3% decrease year-on-year.

During the quarter, Ooredoo expanded its 5G network to cover 80% of the Maldivian population. This move aligns with the company’s commitment to advancing the nation's digital transformation through improved connectivity and user experience.

The company also launched the Maldives’ first eSIM-enabled wearable service in partnership with Samsung, allowing users to make calls and send messages directly from their smartwatches—offering greater convenience and seamless connectivity.
