President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed Hassan Sobir as the Ambassador to Japan and Omar Abdul Razzak as the Ambassador to Belgium and the Mission to the European Union (EU).
At a ceremony held at the President’s Office, President Solih presented the ambassadors with their letters of credence. The president made Hassan Sobir’s appointment at the minister’s level and Omar Abdul Razzak’s appointment at the state minister’s level.
Hassan Sobir previously served as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Belgium and as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Head of Mission to the EU. He holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the University of South Wales, Australia, and has held various positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Omar Abdul Razzak previously served as the High Commissioner to Sri Lanka. He holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Edith Cowan University, Australia, and has fulfilled various senior roles in the government.
