Statistics released by the Secretariat of the Parliament have shown that 49% of the work allocated for the first term of this year has been completed.
As per statistics, parliamentarians spent a total of 71 hours in 35 sittings and 134 hours in the 170 committee meetings held in the first term. The details showed eight of the 28 bills were completed, two of the 10 resolutions were completed, seven out of eight cases submitted by the government were concluded, four of the 10 cases submitted by parliamentarians were completed, 26 of the 49 questions were asked and answered by cabinet ministers and 12 emergency motions were submitted and completed in the first term. In addition, a sign interpreter was hired for the first time to interpret the sittings.
The Parliament has now gone into a short recess of two weeks after completing the first term of the year.
