JSC investigating Judge Naeem over messages sent to a Viber group

Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has launched a disciplinary probe against Drug Court Judge Mohamed Naeem over messages sent to a Viber group.

JSC revealed Judge Naeem is being investigated in relation to messages sent to a Viber group consisting of senior officials of the judiciary, in relation to the distribution of flats for judges. JSC said the messages allegedly contained strong words regarding certain actions that are needed to ensure judges receive flats. JSC said an investigation committee has been formed to investigate the comments.

JSC has previously taken action against judges that breach the Judges’ Code of Conduct by posting certain messages on social media platforms. Judge Naeem has also received disciplinary action from JSC in the past.
