Legal action planned against tourism businesses with unpaid state dues

The government will take legal action against tourism businesses that have failed to pay rent and penalties owed to the state.

The action will be taken under the Tourism Act and regulations made under it. However, the ministry has not specified what legal action it will take.

The measure applies to tourism properties that are currently operating but have outstanding lease rent and fines as well as properties whose operations have been suspended without ministry approval and continue to have outstanding payments.

Regular collection of state revenue is an important policy of the government. Tourism property owners and operators have therefore been urged to settle their outstanding rent and penalties as soon as possible, in line with their lease agreements.
