The High Commissioner from the Maldives to Malaysia Visam Ali has resigned from the position.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed her resignation, although the reason for her resignation is unclear. Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid thanked Visam for her services during her tenure as High Commissioner to Malaysia. He also extended best wishes to her in all future endeavours.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih appointed Visam as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Maldives to Malaysia on March 26, 2019. Previously. she completed a term at the Parliament of the Maldives.
