President receives books written by two locals

Local journalist and author Ahmed Saail Ali has presented a book he wrote on mental health to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

President Solih commended Saail’s work and discussed the mental health situation in the Maldives. The president assured the government was working on expanding the Mental Health Centre services provided in the Maldives.

During the meeting, Saail conferred with the president on some of the difficulties and challenges a person struggling with mental health problems goes through. He said that the aim of the book, which was based on his own experiences, was to encourage and guide people who suffer from similar issues to work on recovery.

Meanwhile, Ambassador-at-large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Saleem presented President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih with a copy of the book he authored, based on peace, human rights, and democracy.

President Solih expressed gratitude to Saleem for gifting the book on his reflections on peace, human rights, and democracy, written in English and Dhivehi. During the meeting, Saleem briefed the president on some of the most notable incidents mentioned in the book.
