Public Service Media (PSM) has extended the deadline to submit applications for Maldiventure, a tourism-related competition.
Maldiventure is being produced by PSM in partnership with the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) to help locals establish tourism establishments in their residential islands. The aim of Maldiventure is to assist individuals and local businesses in developing and showcasing tourism establishments across the Maldives, as part of efforts to increase the popularity of local tourism.
The initial deadline to submit applications was January 31. However, an extension has been given by PSM until February 28.
The first-place winner of Maldiventure will win USD10,000, while the contestant who wins second will receive USD6,000, and the contestant who wins third will receive USD5,000. Applicants can pitch any tourism establishment, including cultural museums, nature parks, and any other establishment that tourists would be interested in visiting. MMPRC stated applicants are required to submit an original and detailed pitch and shortlisted applicants will be required to submit their pitch to a panel of judges while appearing on a television channel operated by PSM.
Interested individuals over 18 years of age or businesses can submit their pitches by filling out the application form, which can be downloaded from the website of PSM.
