Khalid al-Hamadi appointed as CEO of Ooredoo Maldives

Ooredoo Maldives has announced the appointment of Khalid Al-Hamadi as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Al-Hamadi joined Ooredoo Group in 2010 and also served as a Board Director at Ooredoo Maldives. He has held several senior positions at Ooredoo Qatar, including Senior Director in Consumer Sales and Assistant Director of Planning and Development. He is an experienced and certified quality auditor and certified training manager with distinguishing knowledge on management systems, creative initiatives, continuous improvement, and processes implementation.

Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of Ooredoo Maldives Hussain Niyaz extended a warm welcome to Al-Hamadi and said the telecommunications company looks forward to continuing its successful journey with his capable guidance and strong commitment towards innovation. CCO Niyaz also said he will dearly miss Najib Khan, the previous CEO, who led the company during extraordinary times resulting in fantastic growth for the business, ensuring continued investment in new technologies, digital transformation, and community development.

Additionally, Ooredoo Maldives has scheduled the annual general meeting (AGM) in March. The company stated it will announce the record date or book closure date for the AGM on February 17.

Individuals and legal entities registered as shareholders of the company are eligible to receive dividends, attend the AGM in person or by proxy, and participate and vote in person or by proxy.

Ooredoo Maldives stated the notice and agenda of the AGM will be published on its website by no later than February 20, along with the date, time, venue, agenda items, and general information on voting.
