Turkish Foreign Minister arrives in the Maldives

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu has arrived in the Maldives on an official visit.

The Turkish foreign minister was received at Velana International Airport (VIA) by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives Abdulla Shahid. During this visit, Minister Cavusoglu is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed. He will also hold official talks with his counterpart Minister Shahid and oversee the signing of five key agreements between the Maldives and Turkey.

This visit marks the first-ever official visit to the Maldives by a Turkish foreign minister.
