Fifth HafthaaRes programme begins in Fuvahmulah

The fifth edition of the HafthaaRes programme has commenced in Fuvahmulah City.

The fifth HafthaaRes programme is conducted by the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, in association with the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) and the Fuvahmulah City Council. The aim of the programme is to facilitate the relevant institutions and authorities to come together with the public to work towards resolving social issues and building a resilient society.

Speaking to PSM News, Minister of State for Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment Hussain Ismail said the HafthaaRes programme has been very well-received during previous editions held in other regions. He said the first programme for the year is being held in Fuvahmulah, with more to come in other islands during the year.

During the programme in Fuvahmulah, the city council is scheduled to conduct workshops with officials from different institutions in the city, school management, teachers and parents on building a peaceful and resilient society. Discussions are to be held on social issues by the youth and ways to resolve them. The programme also includes a youth market and a family recreational event.
