The Elections Commission of the Maldives (ECM) has decided to place seven ballot boxes for the upcoming parliamentary by-election of the Komandoo Constituency.
Following the announcement of the decision, ECM has opened the opportunity to submit complaints regarding the ballot boxes registered to be placed in the by-election. The electoral body has previously decided to place six boxes for the by-election. However, a ballot box has been added to the list published in the Greater Male' Region after the final list of eligible voters for the constituency was finalised. As such, a box was added in Male' after reviewing the percentage of people registered for the region.
Two ballot boxes will be placed in Iskandar School and Foakaidhoo School with one box to be placed in each of Shaviyani Maroshi Social Centre, Shaviyani Atoll Education Centre in Komandoo, and Komandoo Preschool, according to details announced by the ECM.
A total of 3,309 people are eligible to vote in the by-election of the Komandoo constituency, which includes Komandoo, Foakaidhoo, and Maroshi. The by-election will be held on February 5.
