Maldives condemns attacks on Saudi Arabia and UAE

The Government of Maldives has strongly condemned the launch of multiple missiles and drone attacks targeted towards Saudi Arabia and the UAE on January 23 and 24.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated recent escalation and continuation of such acts of terrorism targeting civilian areas and economic infrastructure demonstrate a threat to the security of the region and the wider world. The foreign ministry also said these attacks also hinder the ongoing peace efforts being made by the concerned parties and the international community to resolve the conflicts in the region.

The Maldives reaffirmed its solidarity with the brotherly people and the governments of Saudi Arabia and the UAE and reiterated its steadfast commitment to the fight against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
