Tourism ministry opens to create videos related to tourism sector

Ministry of Tourism has opened the opportunity to create videos to attract youth to the tourism industry.

The ministry of tourism stated the aim of the video project is to create awareness about the tourism sector and inform the youth of the opportunities available in the sector. The videos are developed in two categories; short video clips and documentary-style videos. The duration of a short video is two minutes and must showcase youth working in the industry, the tourism apprentice programmes, and executive-level employees of the sector.

Meanwhile, three videos are to be created as documentaries, on topics, the introduction of tourism to the Maldives, one day a staff spends at work, and how resorts are operated in the Maldives. The videos must be 15 minutes and must contain a positive message. The deadline for submitting the videos is November 24.

Furthermore, the tourism ministry revealed the video must be subtitled and all videos must be new shot videos for the purpose of the project.

This year marks 50 years since the introduction of tourism in the Maldives.
