ECM urges candidates to abide by laws and regulations when campaigning

Elections Commission of the Maldives (ECM) has urged candidates contesting in by-elections to comply with the electoral laws and regulations when conducting their campaign.

ECM stated there have been complaints that some candidates are undermining the electoral rights of other candidates when conducting their campaigns. ECM urged all candidates to abide by the electoral laws and regulations when campaigning for the by-elections.

ECM is set to conduct the parliamentary by-election for Komandoo constituency in Shaviyani Atoll on February 5. The commission will also be conducting by-elections for some vacant WDC seats on the same day.
