Islamic University of Maldives (IUM) has launched its strategic plan for 2021-2025.
The strategic plan was launched at a special ceremony by Minister of Higher Education Dr. Ibrahim Hassan. The strategic plan was formulated according to nine Key Result Areas (KRAs) and consists of goals and milestones IUM has set out to achieve in the next few years.
Speaking at the ceremony, Higher Education Minister Hassan said careful long-term planning is key to achieving positive results and that the strategic plan has clearly set the pathway for IUM to achieve its goals. He highlighted the importance of setting the various milestones to be achieved as part of the university's work to fulfill its goals as established in the strategic plan. He also said he expects the strategic plan to greatly reduce the timeline for achieving the milestones in order for IUM to accommodate the ever-changing market and remain a competitive university.
Furthermore, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ibrahim Zakariyya Moosa also gave a speech at the ceremony and a report on the strategic plan was presented to attendants.
Meanwhile, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Research and Innovation Dr. Dheeba Moosa also gave a short introduction to the strategic plan at the ceremony. IUM stated its aim in formulating the strategic plan is to quickly and efficiently reach its goals and remain a high-value university.
