Record number of fish purchases in December expected by MIFCO

Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Limited (MIFCO) has projected a record number of fish will be purchased to the company in December.

MIFCO made the projection as the fisheries in the country have improved, thus increasing the fish purchased by the company.

In 2020, MIFCO purchased 49,392 tonnes of fish. However, so far this year, MIFCO has purchased 56,198 tonnes of fish so far this year.

Statistics of MIFCO show that 8,796 tonnes of fish were purchased in December. December this year will be in the record for purchasing the highest number of fish in a single month, according to MIFCO.

MIFCO expects to purchase, 10,500 tonnes of fish by the end of December.
