Singapore suspends VTL flights due to new COVID-19 outbreak

The Government of Singapore has decided to suspend its Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) flights due to the new outbreak of the COVID-19 Omicron variant.

Maldives had been included in the VTL of Singapore, allowing fully vaccinated travellers from the Maldives to enter and stay in Singapore without quarantine. However, the Government of Singapore has instructed airlines to stop issuing tickets to VTL flights until January 20, 2022 due to the new outbreak of the Omicron variant. Individuals scheduled to travel on VTL flights before December 22, 2021 will be still be able to enter and stay in Singapore without quarantine.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives urged Maldivians travelling to Singapore to be informed on the latest measures announced by Singapore.
