FSM Hulhumale' fuel shed to be open 24 hours a day

Fuel Supply Maldives Private Limited (FSM) has stated it will soon make the decision to keep the Hulhumale' fuel shed open 24 hours a day. The demand at the fuel sheds operating in Hulhumale' has increased due to the increasing residential population.

Speaking to PSM News, Head of Sales and Marketing Ahmed Riffath said FSM rebranded for its 21st anniversary with the aim of improving its services. As such, he said the company has decided to extend the service hours for the fuel shed in Hulhumale' as part of these changes. He noted that one of its fuel sheds is already operating 24 hours a day in Male' City and that the management team has decided to make similar changes to the Hulhumale' fuel shed.

Currently, only the FSM fuel shed near the building of State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) is operating 24 hours a day. Riffath said the main problem is the service capacity at the fuel sheds, resulting in customers having to wait in long queues, especially after working hours and right before closing time. He said the opening of a high-capacity fuel shed in the Male' Industrial Village will solve the issue, as the shed will be able to service 16 motorcycles and eight cars at a time.

FSM is a subsidiary of the State Trading Organisation (STO) and was formed in 2000 to streamline fuel distribution in the country and to offer easy and convenient access to fuel throughout the country.
