Managing Director of Island Aviation Services Limited (IASL) Mohamed Mihad has revealed the national airline, Maldivian, is temporarily using chartered flights from other airlines. He made the statement after four aircraft of the Maldivian fleet were grounded for maintenance.
Managing Director Mihad said Maldivian is using chartered flights to continue its operations, while the national airline is conducting its scheduled maintenance on some of the aircraft. He assured that Maldivian has a policy of using chartered flights from private airlines, even in the peak season. He also revealed that Maldivian plans to bring in two aircraft to increase its fleet capacity.
Maldivian is currently conducting a high number of flight operations due to the increase in demand during the peak season.
