Two ambassadors call on State Minister, Foreign Secretary

Ambassador of Georgia to the Maldives Archil Dzuliashvili and Ambassador of Netherlands to the Maldives Tanja Gonggrijp have called on the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Khaleel and the Foreign Secretary Abdul Ghafoor Mohamed at separate meetings.

At the meeting with the Georgian ambassador, discussions were held on the existing bilateral relationship between the two countries and explored avenues for increasing cooperation especially in the areas of education, tourism, trade, and economic cooperation. Both the state minister, and the ambassador also reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing collaboration at the multilateral fora to address global issues of mutual importance.

Moreover, during the meeting held with the Netherlands ambassador, discussions were held on the existing bilateral relations between the Maldives and the Netherlands and explored enhancing ties in areas of mutual importance including climate change, tourism, trade, and investments.

The state minister and the foreign secretary also acknowledged the role played by the Netherlands in the European Union and highlighted the pivotal role played in reviving democracy in the Maldives and reassured the government's commitment to support and expand cooperation through this partnership.
