President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has signed the book of condolences opened by Parliament for the late Parliamentarian Hussain Waheed, who passed away on December 13.
In his message, President Solih penned that Parliamentarian Hussain Waheed was a dear friend and colleague. Recalling their acquaintance, the president said he had noticed the late parliamentarian’s kind-heartedness and joyful character since their initial meeting.
Appreciating the invaluable services of the late parliamentarian, the president recalled his contributions to politics, describing him as a close associate with a courageous mindset who dispensed productive counsel. The president concluded his message praying for Parliamentarian Hussain Waheed’s soul to be blessed with eternity in paradise and for strength and resolve for his family.
Parliamentarian Hussain Waheed was involved in numerous significant engagements in parliament at the time of his demise. He served in various committees, including the Public Accounts Committee, Committee on Member’s Privileges and Ethics, the Budget Committee and the Joint-Committee of Public Accounts Committee and Committee on Decentralisation.
