Maldives Immigration has conducted a customer care programme to expand the skill set of its employees.
The programme is being conducted in association with the Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI) and Corporate Maldives Academy. Immigration stated the customer care programme aims to enhance the relationship between Immigration officers and customers to provide better services.
The programme was inaugurated by Controller General of Immigration Mohamed Ahmed Hussain with Deputy Secretary-General of MATI Assad Ali in attendance.
Speaking at the event, Controller General Hussain noted the Maldives is being advertised abroad as the Sunny Side of Life and that the first interactions of visitors to the Maldives are with Immigration officers. In this regard, he said Immigration officers should have a friendly disposition when welcoming visitors to the country.
Also at the event, Assad Ali highlighted the importance of the work of Immigration officers in relation to welcoming tourists to the Maldives and said the interaction between officers and tourists will make a lasting impression on their stay. He also thanked Immigration officers for continuing to uphold the friendly and welcoming nature of Maldivians and praised Maldives Immigration for working to further enhance their services.
At the event, Controller General Hussain introduced a badge to be worn by all Immigration officers during the programme.
The customer care programme is split into 12 sessions that include all Immigration officers and is scheduled to end on December 25. A total of 10 sessions are scheduled to be held in Greater Male' Region and two sessions are to be held in the atolls.
