Ministry of Education has begun a campaign to encourage teachers to receive their COVID-19 vaccination.
The education ministry said the campaign will highlight the importance of teachers and employees in the education sector being inoculated from COVID-19.
The campaign is being conducted at schools and social media and aims to provide information regarding the importance of receiving the two vaccine doses in order for the academic year to resume without interruption. A large number of teachers and school employees have received their vaccines and that schools have taken further steps to protect the health of students, said the ministry.
Additionally, the education ministry has instructed all school employees to get vaccinated before the start of the new academic year. The ministry stated school employees should have received their first dose by the start of the new academic year and that the ministry is in discussions with the relevant authorities to make it easier for employees to receive the second dose.
School employees who are unable to receive vaccines are required to submit a relevant document from Health Protection Agency (HPA) to the school management.
