Dhiraagu records USD 13 million in profit in the second quarter

Telecommunications company Dhiraagu hs recorded USD13 million in profit in the second quarter of 2021.

The quarterly report shows Dhiraagu received a slight decrease in profit in the second quarter compared to the USD 14 million recorded in the first quarter. The report shows Dhiraagu received USD 40 million in revenue in the second quarter of 2021, of which USD 22 million were revenue from its mobile services, and USD 17 million were from its fixed broadband and enterprise services. The revenue received from these services in the second quarter is a decrease compared to the USD 43 million received in the first quarter of 2021.

The quarterly report also shows the operating cost of Dhiraagu decreased in the second quarter. The operating cost for the second quarter was USD 18 million, down from the USD 19 million from the previous quarter.

Dhiraagu stated the slight drop in revenue in the second quarter was due to providing free allowance to students studying online and employees working at home, due to the government restrictions following the recent increase in COVID-19 cases. Dhiraagu added another reason for the drop in revenue is due to customers using less of its mobile roaming service.
