Telecommunications company Ooredoo Maldives has recorded lower revenue and net profit in the second quarter of 2021.
In the quarterly report, Ooredoo reveals it generated USD 27 million in the second quarter of 2021, which is a 5.3% decrease compared to the USD 29 million generated in the first quarter.
The report shows Ooredoo received USD 6.3 million in the second quarter, which is lower compared to USD 8 million received in the first quarter. The report also shows Ooredoo received USD 21 million in revenue from its mobile services and USD 6.7 million from fixed broadband and enterprise services.
The company's operating cost for the second quarter of this year was USD 14.8 million while the operating cost for the first quarter was USD 14.4 million.
Ooredoo Maldives stated it generated less revenue this quarter due to COVID-19 restrictions, which had drastically reduced its roaming service usage.
