Ministry of Education has announced individuals who have not completed the full dosage of the COVID-19 vaccine will not be permitted to enter schools, starting from next month.
The education ministry stated additional measures are being taken to safeguard schools against the spread of COVID-19, ahead of the start of the upcoming academic year. As such, the ministry stated individuals who have not completed the full dosage of the COVID-19 vaccine will not be allowed to enter schools, starting from September 1. The ministry said an exception is provided for students and individuals who are below the vaccination age.
The education ministry further revealed efforts are ongoing to facilitate the administration of the second vaccine dose to school staff who have only received one dose so far. The ministry has called on all teachers and other staff of schools to complete their vaccine dosage to ensure the new academic year can be carried out under normal circumstances.
The new academic year is set to begin on August 10. The first semester will end on December 23 this year, with the second semester set to begin on January 16, 2022. The academic year will end on June 30, 2022.
