Broken and abandoned vehicles in Male' city to be towed

Male' City Council has announced it will be towing broken and abandoned vehicles in Male' City.

In a press statement, Male' City Council stated it will work with the Maldives Police Service (MPS) to tow illegally parked vehicles as well as broken and abandoned vehicles in the city from August 2 onwards. The city council requested vehicle owners to clear illegally parked and broken vehicles as soon as possible.

Broken and abandoned vehicles found by authorities during the operation will be towed and destroyed in accordance with the Rules and Regulation of Land Transportation. The council stated it will not take responsibility for the damages incurred by vehicle owners during the operation.

Furthermore, Male' City Council said it is now responsible for checking garages and the agreements between garage owners and vehicle owners as part of the process of registering vehicles in the Greater Male' Region. The council requested individuals interesting in the service to submit the application at the council's Land and Building Section or the Hulhumale' Section.

The application is available from the Male' City Council website as well as the Land and Building Section or the Hulhumale' Section.
