President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the Parliamentary Group (PG) leader of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) Ali Azim have discussed the government's legislative agenda.
President Solih discussed the government's legislative during a meeting with the MDP PG leader and other parliamentarians representing the main ruling party. After the meeting, Azim said the discussions were focused on working with the parliament and the relevant institutions to fulfill the government's legislative agenda.
The parliament, which consists of an MDP supermajority, has been continuing the work to fulfill the government's legislative agenda and has revealed that 76 bills related to the government's agenda had been submitted during 2020.
The government is currently focused on fighting religious extremism in the country. In this regard, President Solih has said necessary legal changes will be made through the parliament in order to better fight the rise of extremism.
